Local information about Bushey
Sitting just north of London’s border and just to the south of Watford, Bushey has an appeal to city workers and families alike. Comfortably within the commuter belt, travelling from Bushey to the city is uncomplicated, and the area is reasonably-priced when compared to much of London.
The architecture of the high street is varied, with post-war, pragmatic shop space beside mock Tudor buildings. The domestic architecture also features beamed structures, complete with bay windows, and the houses come detached, semi-detached or terraced. These homes are ‘family-sized’ and their residents get better value for money than they would in the city. Development in the town hasn’t stopped either, with modern apartments now found to suit a different incoming demographic.
Although 1930s plans for a Northern Line-serviced Bushey Heath tube station never came to fruition, the town is still well connected. Bushey’s train station has London Overground as well as railway service into the city to keep locals within easy reach of the big city.
