The Great Housekeep Bake Off: Weeks 7, 8 and 9

Week 7 – Peanut Butter and Chocolate Oreo Pie

This week we had a delicious peanut and chocolate bake! Gareth is one of our tech gurus and he fuelled our love for chocolate by bringing in this lovely pie! Gareth is a keen cyclist, loves tech and is always there to help with anything tech related. Will his bake make us all a little nutty?

This peanut butter pie was amazing; we all went nuts for it (in a good way)! The base was crushed Oreo cookies, with a layer of smooth creamy peanut butter, topped with a layer of chocolate ganache. The combination of chocolate and nuts can never go wrong; it was lovely, sweet and the Oreo base added that extra crunch.

We all became astronuts as this bake was out of this world! Hopefully this bake will secure Gareth a spot in the Housekeep hall of baking fame!

Week 8 – Chocolate Chip Shortbread

This week’s bake was brought in by our recruitment manager, Lindsey! She is responsible for finding the lovely, 5* housekeepers to join the platform! Lindsey baked some scrumptious chocolate chip shortbread for all us to enjoy this week. Shortbread comes in many shapes, sizes and flavours, but how did Lindsey's fare?!

Shortbread is always a winner (at least in my eyes it is) particularly when it is accompanied with chocolate and a cup of tea. It is a traditional staple that most families across the United Kingdom have enjoy at Christmas! This shortbread was sensational: crisp, buttery and golden! It crumbled when you took a bite and the chocolate melted in your mouth adding an extra sweetness to it.

This sweet, chocolatey shortbread was simply sublime! Lindsey’s shortbread is one to watch out for in this competition!

Week 9 – Peanut Butter Flapjacks

Meet Ian, who brought in this week’s exceptional bake! Ian's bakes weren’t just any peanut butter flapjacks, they were peanut butter flapjacks with…*takes long breath*…white chocolate, cashews, pecans, pumpkin seeds, blueberries, raspberries and a touch of orange zest too! Ian is another one of our tech gurus who is also a keen cyclist and loves tea!

These flapjacks were full of fruity, wonderful flavours which made your taste buds dance! The flapjacks were simply so soft and chewy! The chocolate, blueberries and raspberries added sweetness whilst also adding fruity flavours, also accompanied by the orange zest. The cashews, pecans and pumpkin seeds added lovely nutty flavours to the flapjacks as well. We all loved the flapjacks and they were all gone very quickly!

These fruity, sweet, flavoursome flapjacks were fabulously fantastic! Will these be enough for Ian to be crowned this year’s winner?
