Herne Hill, just south of the River Thames, is a district that bridges the boroughs of Southwark and Lambeth.

Perhaps Herne Hill’s most famous attraction is Brockwell Park. This large open space is popular with locals and other Londoners, due to its relatively close proximity to Central London. The park is also the new home of summer festivals Field Day and Lovebox, which have both now vacated their long-standing home in Victoria Park, Bow. Herne Hill also had particular relevance to sporting fans during the first post-war Olympic games in 1948, which saw the Herne Hill Velodrome serve as the primary cycling arena of the games.

Period terraces with attractive front gardens are the most prominent homes on the market currently, although converted flats and newer developments are popping up at an increasing rate in the area.

Herne Hill railway station provides access to and from Central London via the Thameslink and South Eastern railway services. 24 hour bus routes also serve the local community, keeping the area in touch with the rest of London through day and night.
