Elephant and Castle is an area in the South London Borough of Southwark. The area takes its name from the historic Elephant and Castle coaching inn located in the neighbourhood.

Elephant and Castle bridges multiple postcodes - SE1, SE11, SE17 - and is sometimes used to refer to nearby neighbourhoods Walworth (SE17) and Newington (SE17) as well.

Transport into Central London is made simple by the Northern Line and Bakerloo Line service at Elephant and Castle station. The station is also serviced by Thameslink and National Rail trains, taking locals both into the city centre, and out of London into Kent.

The Elephant and Castle area is subject to an ongoing regeneration project, which will see thousands of new flats and apartments built across the neighbourhood, as well as a new town centre.
