Frequently asked questions
Most tenancy agreements require you to organise an end of tenancy clean prior to checking out of the property.
If you do not organise a clean, and the property fails to meet the landlord’s requirements for cleanliness, you may have a fee deducted from your security deposit to cover the cost of cleaning.
End of tenancy cleaning is more thorough than a standard home clean, and takes longer to complete. It’s designed to make a home like new before new tenants move in.
Cleaning of kitchen appliances and white goods is included as standard in an end of tenancy clean, and the cleaners will move furniture to clean beneath. All cupboards will be cleaned - inside and out - as well as inside windows.
All tasks included in a standard home clean - including mopping, vacuuming and surface cleaning - are also completed during an end of tenancy clean.
If you have any other specific requirements, please do let us know about these in the 'Other Details' field when requesting a quote.
End of tenancy cleaning does not include the cleaning of walls or ceilings.
Ideally the property should be fully cleared. The only items that should be left in the property are those staying in the property after your tenancy ends. If you require the inside of cupboards to be cleaned, these will need to be emptied in advance of the clean.
If you have a patio or balcony, cleaning this can be included to your end of tenancy clean, as can cleaning the outside of your windows. If you're looking to book these services, please do let us know in the 'Other Details' field when requesting a quote.

About end of tenancy cleaning
You should book an end of tenancy clean with Housekeep when preparing to move out of your rental property.
End of tenancy cleaning is a requirement of lots of tenancy agreements, to ensure that the property is clean for new tenants to move in. If an end of tenancy clean is not completed, you could have a fee deducted from your security deposit to cover the cost of cleaning.
If you've recently bought a property, you can also book this service to ensure the property is clean before you move in.
To book an end of tenancy clean, simply fill out our online form and a member of the team will give you a call to get your clean booked in.
We have availability across the city, with cleaners on standby and available at short notice or for advance booking. Just let us know your availability when requesting a quote, and we’ll book you in for a convenient time. We recommend that you have packed-up and emptied the property, prior to your cleaners attending.
Your cleaning team will provide all of the products and equipment required to deliver a perfect end of tenancy clean. During the clean, your cleaners will work against an agency approved checklist to ensure that your security deposit is returned.
End of tenancy cleaning includes all standard cleaning tasks, as well as the cleaning of appliances and furniture. Steam cleaning of carpets and upholstery is also available as an optional extra.
After your clean, we’ll provide a receipt for the job, to evidence the work completed.
