Sitting within London’s least-populated borough of Kingston-upon-Thames, Surbiton is a pleasant neighbourhood within easy distance of central London.
Surbiton is right next to the river Thames, and has plenty of green space too. This includes the Alexandra Recreation Ground, as well as Fishponds Park, a park on the grounds of a historic 18th century estate.
The area is home to an array of Victorian period terraces and larger, detached villas. Many of the terraced streets are comprised of grand houses - with three or four storeys - complete with basement flats. There are also plenty of interwar art deco builds throughout Surbiton, as well as modern flats and post-war developments contributing to the local housing stock.
Travel into the city is uncomplicated and Surbiton station, with its striking art deco architecture, is a local landmark in and of itself. In Zone 6, this grade-II listed station receives frequent service to London Waterloo, making Surbiton a more-than-feasible home for those working in the city.
