Hendon is a suburb of London in the borough of Barnet, around 7 miles from central London, with a population of 50,000. It includes the wards of Hendon, Hendon West and Colindale and covers the NW4 postcode district.

Hendon is served by Hendon Central tube station on the Edgware branch of the Northern Line, as well as by Hendon railway station which is on the Thameslink line. There are good local bus routes, which also provide a connection to the large Brent Cross shopping centre and central London. Good road links are provided by the A41 and A1 roads.

Hendon is largely a residential suburb, so there are plenty of local amenities. Shopping is centred around Hendon Central. There are also local sports clubs with Saracens rugby club and Hendon FC, plus a local golf club and leisure club. There is some history in the area due to the Hendon Aerodrome, in the Colindale area, which is famous for the first airmail delivery. RAF Hendon was also an important air defence post during the Second World War. Hendon is also home to the Hendon Police College.
