The City of Westminster is one of London’s most iconic boroughs. The borough serves as the home of British politics and houses many of London’s primary tourist attractions.
The Houses of Parliament - comprised of the House of Commons and the House of Lords - and the Palace of Westminster form a symbolic and historically significant complex. Hugging the River Thames, the Houses are best seen spotlit at night from just south of the River, complete with reflection courtesy of the still Thames. As well as the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben there are plenty of other attractions through the borough, which accounts for most of ‘Central London’. The West End, Soho and Oxford Street are some of the other popular destinations in the borough.
Due to its centrality, most of the housing in Westminster comes in the form of flats and apartments. Some large and particularly grand terraced houses in period fashion can be found, although many of these now operate as offices, rather than homes.
It goes without saying that the area is easily reachable by bus or tube. There are over 30 (yes, 30) tube stations servicing the borough and Paddington, Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road are all some of London’s busiest.
All of Westminster’s postcodes - W1, W2, W9, W10 and W11 - are well-serviced on a daily basis by Housekeep cleaners. These cleaners have domestic cleaning experience and are interviewed in person to ensure a 5-star clean from your very first visit.
