Why do I need to book a move out clean before I move out?

Most tenancy agreements require you to organise a move-out/end of tenancy clean prior to checking out of the property.

If you do not organise a clean, and the property fails to meet the landlord’s requirements for cleanliness, you may have a fee deducted from your security deposit to cover the cost of cleaning.

What’s the difference between regular cleaning and move out cleaning?

Move in/out cleaning is more thorough than a standard home clean, and takes longer to complete. It’s designed to thoroughly clean a property before new tenants move in.

Cleaning of kitchen appliances and white goods is included as standard in a move in/out clean. All cupboards will be cleaned - inside and out - as well as inside windows.

All tasks included in a standard home clean - including mopping, vacuuming and surface cleaning - are also completed during a move in/out clean.

What's the difference between move in/out cleaning and deep cleaning?

Our move in/move out cleaning service is the most thorough clean you can book. It's designed for homes that are completely empty, so the cleaning team can clean even more hard-to-reach areas - including the inside of cupboards & appliances.

Our deep cleaning service is more thorough than regular cleaning, but is designed for homes that are still being lived in.

Which items can be left in the property during a move in/out clean?

Ideally the property should be fully cleared. The only items that should be left in the property are those staying in the property after you move out. If you require the inside of cupboards to be cleaned, these will need to be emptied in advance of the clean.

How do I pay?

We take a card payment when you book. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express payment cards.

How can I arrange access if I’m not at home?

We can collect keys from a key safe, a neighbour or your estate agent (within a ten minute walk of the property). Just let us know where the keys will be in the ‘Any other details?’ section of the booking form.

How long does a move in/move out clean take?

It usually takes your cleaning team 3-5 hours to complete a move-in/move-out clean.

What equipment do cleaning teams bring?

The cleaning team will bring everything they need for your move in/move out clean, including all products and a vacuum cleaner.

How does the Housekeep Guarantee work?

Job well done. The two cleaners did a thorough job and were pleasant to deal with. Some initial issues with communication/language barrier were overcome by using online translation. They methodically went through all cupboards and shelves, leaving them spotless, (plus oven, fridge, freezer). Great attention to detail- shutters, towel rails, high cabinets all dealt with inside and out. One high shelf was missed at first- this is totally understandable in a whole house clean. When I pointed it out, they immediately dealt with it- I appreciated their polite response to the feedback.

The cleaning was thorough, and the cleaners were respectful and hardworking. The only concern was that they came at 12 pm instead of 9, but this was the head office's fault. The end of tenancy clean should have a fixed arrival time for a customer to choose from since it takes 5 hours. I ended up having to deal with this all day. I used another agency before and they arrived at my requested time at 8.30 am.
