Local information about Brockley

Brockley, in South East London, is an attractive residential area. With generally larger properties than the neighbouring areas of New Cross and Peckham, Brockley is now a highly desirable part of Lewisham.

Tall Victorian houses dominate the area, many of which have three or even four storeys. Although some streets are terraced, there are many period houses that are semi-detached or even detached throughout Brockley’s residential streets. For an area that was significantly damaged by wartime bombing, there is still an impressive amount of period property in the area.

There’s plenty to do here and there are few better places than Brockley Market for food on a Saturday lunchtime. The celebrated market, held weekly in the Lewisham College car park, supports local traders and has something for everyone’s taste!

Located within Zone 2, Brockley is well-connected for commuters or those venturing into central London for the day. As with much of South-East London, the best connections are via the London Overground, which can be caught at either Brockley Station or the nearby Honor Oak Park Station.
