6 Amazingly Easy-to-Make Home Cleaning Products You Need Now

London is famous for high prices - so it's important to make smart decisions when spending money. Many home cleaning products can be quite pricey - but have you ever thought to make your own?

You can find loads of great ideas on Pinterest, but with everyone a little short on time these days, the team here at Housekeep have simplified the process by providing the easiest, quickest home made cleaning product recipes we've seen.

1. Homemade Anti-Bacterial Spray

Some of the Housekeep staff swear by this in their own homes. Add 1 part bleach and 4 parts water to a spray container. Perfect for quickly disinfecting kitchen and bathroom areas!

2. Homemade Sink Unblocker

Pour a cup of salt followed by a cup of baking soda down the offending plug. Add boiling water, and voila! Pretty much anything will be dissolved, including grease.

3. Homemade Limescale Remover

White vinegar spray - great for removing soap scum and hard water scum. Spray on taps, and around the bathroom and leave for 15 minutes and scrub clean with a scrubbing sponge. Simple! Got really stubborn limescale? Soak some cotton balls in white vinegar and wrap firmly around the area. Wipe clean and marvel at the shine!

4. Homemade Stain Remover

Rubbing alcohol works wonders on stubborn permanent marker stains. Dip a cotton ball in rubbing alcohol and then rub the area dry. This won’t work on the extreme stains, for which you may need a steam cleaner.

5. Homemade Brass/Silver Polish

Grab the Tomato Ketchup - wait, what? You did read that right! Got some silver or brass cookware lying around that’s looking a bit tarnished? Squeeze some ketchup onto a clean cloth and rub in the ketchup, rinse with lukewarm water and let dry.

6. Homemade Shoe Polish

Thinking about throwing away that banana peel? Think again! Banana peels serve as great shoe polish! Not only that, but banana peels can also naturally whiten your teeth! Blend a banana peel with some water, and create a paste, and use this as your teeth whitener/shoe polish. Who would've thought?
