The London borough of Barking and Dagenham is one of Greater London’s easternmost boroughs, formed of the historic Essex towns of Barking and Dagenham and the 20th century-built Becontree estate.

The Becontree estate, built in the interwar years, provides much of the housing in the borough, covering a 4 square mile patch, with properties holding RM8, RM9 and RM10 postcodes.
