Tower Hamlets is an East London borough, north of the river. Home to much of the traditional ‘East End’, the borough sits between the City of London, Hackney and Newham, just to the north of the Thames.
There’s plenty to do throughout the borough, which has a strong multicultural identity. The borough is home to Brick Lane, and its famous 24 hour beigel shops, as well as great pubs and clubs. Victoria Park and the V&A Museum of Childhood are great destinations for families too! Tower Hamlets is also home to Queen Mary, University of London as well as the Royal London Hospital, which - when opened - was Europe’s largest hospital. The hospital still operates as the base for the London Air Ambulance, and the sight of helicopters taking off and landing is a familiar one to locals.
The borough’s housing stock is varied. There are many flats - some of which are in tower blocks - offset by grand period housing. In Bow and other parts of the borough, there are large Victorian houses set on communal squares, as well as new-build apartments popping up along the Regent’s Canal.
Many parts of Tower Hamlets are walking distance from the City of London, however there are great transport links too. Aldgate East to Bow Road all receive District Line and Hammersmith & City Line service, with Mile End also on the Central Line. Bow Church is also an option for those requiring DLR service.
The Housekeep platform has many great cleaners who regularly work in Tower Hamlets, covering the E1, E2 and E3 postcodes. To ensure 5-star cleans, these cleaners have all been background-checked and have domestic cleaning experience.
