Local information about Earls Court

Earl’s Court is an upmarket district in the West London borough of Kensington & Chelsea. The area was popular with Polish settlers in the years after the Second World War, and remains a popular settling point for those moving to London from Australia and New Zealand.

The area is short distance from many Central London attractions, as well as great variety of bars and restaurants. For tourists, the Kensington Palace and the surrounding gardens are a great starting spot. For locals, the nearby Kensington High Street is perfect for all shopping needs and even features a rooftop garden above a former department store!

Property in the area is particularly impressive, as is the case across much of Kensington & Chelsea. Large Victorian squares, with white facades and set on communal gardens, contribute largely to the housing stock of the area. There are also many mansion blocks throughout the area, which add to the luxurious property landscape of Earl’s Court.

Earl’s Court is easily reachable from most of London, with frequent service from the District and Piccadilly Lines through Earl’s Court underground station. Of course, plenty of TfL bus routes service the area too, meaning you’re never far from where you need to be!
