Richmond is a pretty suburb of southwest London, located to the south of the River Thames, just over 8 miles from the city centre. The area has a large number of parks, such as Richmond Park which is famous for its deer, and conservation areas like Richmond Hill.

The area is home for just over 21,000 residents, across the North Richmond and South Richmond wards. The heart of the area is Richmond Green, a public green which has the shopping of Richmond town on one side and access to the Old Deer Park from the other. Other nearby attractions include the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The area is surrounded by other popular residential locations including Barnes, Brentford, East Sheen, Ham, Hampton, Isleworth, Mortlake, Petersham, Roehampton, St Margarets, Strawberry Hill, Teddington and Whitton. The area is generally considered to be affluent, with luxury shopping, independent boutiques and a farmers’ market. Richmond and North Sheen stations provide good transport links.
