Local information about Shoreham-by-Sea
Shoreham-by-Sea, also known simply as Shoreham, is a town in West Sussex, just south of the North Downs. The town spans the BN43 postcode area, and is situated within the district of Adur.
The housing options in Shoreham are varied – with everything from purpose-built flats, to large detached family homes, terraced houses, bungalows and cottages available – so there really is something for everyone who's considering a move to or within Shoreham-by-Sea. Not to mention, many properties come with stunning coastal view, particularly those around the Shoreham Beach area. Coupled with regular transport into both London and Brighton via Shoreham-by-Sea railway station (four trains run per hour to Brighton and two per hour to London Victoria via Gatwick), it's easy to see why Shoreham has become a popular location for those looking for a slightly quieter coastal lifestyle, while working in the city.
Despite being smaller than the nearby Brighton, there's still lots to do within Shoreham – with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and pubs on the High Street and adjacent roads. There are also a number of historic buildings within the town, including St Nicolas' Church (of which part dates back to the 10th Century) which hint at the town's rich Anglo-Saxon and Norman history.
