Clapton is a part of the London borough of Hackney, in North East London, comprised of Upper and Lower Clapton.
As with other areas of Hackney, such as Dalston and Stoke Newington, Clapton is often described as having a villagey, community feel. The Chatsworth Road market - situated on the outskirts of Lower Clapton is a great example of this.
