Orpington is a former Kentish town, now in the London borough of Bromley. Orpington operates as a town within its own right, whilst remaining within easy distance of the city - for those working in Central London, commutes to the city take only a half hour.

There are great activities for families around Orpington, making the area an attractive proposition for a day out. High Elms Country Park is perhaps the most notable attraction in the area, with grounds in excess of 250 acres of woodland, complete with educational centre and cafe.

The architecture and property within the area is quaint in comparison to the more central London towns. Shops within the town centre are built into the ground floors of mock Tudor buildings, and the property landscape consists of flats, Victorian semi-detached and terraced homes, as well as a selection of cottages more akin to a Kentish town than London streets.

Orpington Railway Station takes commuters from the town to London Bridge throughout rush hour and the rest of the day. In the other direction there are also frequent services for families looking to escape deeper into the Kent countryside.
