New Cross, in south east London, is a thriving and well-connected part of Lewisham.

The area is notably the home of Goldsmiths, University of London, an institution famous for its contribution to the arts. Damien Hirst, Damon Albarn and Vivienne Westwood are all household names that have graduated from the college.

There’s plenty of entertainment for locals in New Cross, with pubs such as the New Cross Inn and the Amersham Arms both hosting live music regularly. New Cross is in close proximity to Deptford and Peckham where an array of other daytime and evening entertainment can be found.

Along the main road, it’s mostly flats on the housing market, often above retail space. Developers have also moved into the area in recent years, so new-builds feature prominently on the market now too.

New Cross and New Cross Gate both offer easy access in and out of the area via the London overground service. These trains come every few minutes and New Cross Gate is even serviced overnight at the weekends.
