Local information about Canada Water

The area of South East London now known as Canada Water takes its name from a lake and wildlife project. Since Canada Water underground station opened, the area has been of increasing residential interest and appeal. The area now has London Overground connection as well as Jubilee Line service, which has only furthered its appeal.

Located in Rotherhithe, in the borough of Southwark, the lake is now joined by an architecturally striking Library, built in 2011, and will be the subject of even further regeneration in the coming years. Due to great existing links to the City of London and Canary Wharf, the area is popular with young professionals. The housing landscape reflects this, comprised almost entirely of purpose built flats to meet the needs of this demographic. Those looking for family-sized houses, however, do have options close-at-hand in Rotherhithe.
