Local information about London Bridge

London Bridge connects the City of London and the south London borough of Southwark. The bridge has existed in multiple iterations, with the current bridge unveiled in 1973.

Immediately north of the bridge is central London, with Monument and Bank close to the river front . Immediately south of the river is the borough of Southwark, where Borough Market can be found within walking distance of the bridge. Another local landmark is the historic Southwark Cathedral, also close by. These days, this part of London is perhaps most renowned as the home of the Shard, the UK's tallest building.
