Housekeep welcomes new hire

We're excited to announce the arrival of Alastair Akers as Head of Operations.

Alastair comes with over 10 years experience scaling fast-growing technology businesses. Prior to joining Housekeep, Alastair was Operations Director at logistics marketplace Engineius, where he was responsible for supplier acquisition and quality,  delivering over 400% growth while simultaneously increasing customer satisfaction and profitability.

Alastair has also led transformation projects at blue-chip companies including Eddie Stobart, Virgin Media, Associated British Ports and Northern Gas Networks.

Alastair joins Housekeep's senior leadership team at a crucial time, as Housekeep builds on its foundation as the UK market leader in home cleaning and its promising start in the £40bn tradesperson market.

Housekeep is already 3x bigger than the nearest competitor, delivering over 1m cleans at an average rating of 4.9*. Alastair's job will be tying supply and demand together, across services and geographies, ensuring Housekeep delivers a great service every time - for both customers and service providers.

Alastair said: "I'm delighted to be joining Housekeep. With our talented and highly motivated team, I'm convinced that we can make our already excellent service to customers even better, and that we can become an even more attractive platform for our dedicated housekeepers and tradespeople"

Housekeep founder and CEO Avin Rabheru said: "Slick, efficient operations are at the heart of our business and Alastair brings top tier experience to this key role in our management team. We've built a platform from which we can not only tackle the £5B home cleaning market, but from which we can also address the £40B tradespeople market. Alastair will ensure we deliver a great service for users every time, which will be key to building a category winner and owning the home in the coming years"
