Newham is an East London borough, comprised notably of East Ham, West Ham, Stratford and Canning Town as well as other smaller districts. The borough - and its regeneration - was the focus of much attention in the run up to the 2012 Olympic Games, hosted by Great Britain in Stratford.
Culturally, the borough is significant as the home of West Ham United. Both the football club’s former ground, Upton Park, and its current home at the Olympic Stadium, are comfortably within the boundaries of the borough. Other attractions of the borough include the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford, which is one of London’s busiest shopping destination. Stratford is also home to the Royal Theatre Stratford East, which puts on productions throughout the year.
Recent development in Stratford and throughout Newham has meant there are plenty of new-build apartments, notably 150 High Street, which is one of London’s tallest residential buildings and more comparable to a skyscraper than traditional housing blocks. Older tower blocks of flats are dispersed throughout Newham as well as 19th and 20th century terraced houses in the more residential areas of the borough.
Newham is serviced frequently - and even overnight at the weekends - by the Central Line through Stratford, which also has National Rail, Jubilee Line and Overground connections. Other stations in the borough include East Ham, West Ham, Upton Park and Canning Town, with DLR, District and Hammersmith & City Line service.
Many experienced and background-checked cleaners on the Housekeep platform service Newham regularly. These cleaners cover all Newham’s postcodes - E6, E7, E12, E13, E16, E17 and E20 - and are equipped to complete 5-star cleans at your home.
