Local information about Twickenham

Twickenham is a suburban town in the South West London borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Twickenham has a rich history in sport, with the world’s largest rugby stadium, Twickenham Stadium, regularly hosting matches for up to 82,000 fans. The historic stadium has been open for over a century now, and is the home ground for England national fixtures, as well as selected domestic club fixtures. As England hosted the Rugby World Cup in both 1991 and 2015, the stadium was the ground for both of these finals.

Outside of the town centre, Twickenham is largely residential, with plenty of large, family-sized period properties on the market. Housing estates from the interwar years, as well as post-war flats and houses complete a varied property landscape, with options for almost all needs. In the more exclusive areas of Twickenham there are even mansions and larger detached homes with gated driveways.

Twickenham railway station ensures that commuting to the city is easily viable, with trains running to London Waterloo at a rate of one every 5 minutes during off peak hours.
