The nomination recognises our in-house technology team, who develop the world-first technology that makes housework work – for the cleaners, customers & tradespeople who use Housekeep.
Our tech team were the first in the world to build a mobile app for cleaners and the first to develop live instant booking for cleaning services. The tech they build is used by thousands of Housekeepers every day, as well as tens of thousands of customers. And it makes a huge difference to the lives of Housekeep's users. For example, the smart job allocation & route optimisation tech they've built has saved cleaners over £8m in travel costs since it launched. And it's saving 1000+ tonnes of CO2 per year too.
Recently, our development team have been building technology that enables cleaners to transfer spare keys in their local area, without having to travel to our central London office. They also released the first Housekeep customer app in November 2021, and have continued developing tech to help grow our new services – which include end of tenancy & deep cleaning, as well as tradespeople services. Not to mention their extensive work in helping to roll out our clean, new look last year – which has just been shortlisted for Re-brand or Re-launch Strategy of the Year at the Drum Marketing Awards.
It's been exciting to see our technology team continue to grow over recent years – ensuring Housekeep's technology can continue paving the way in the home services industry.
We’re sharing the shortlist with tech teams from businesses that are well and truly ‘household names’ – including Sainsbury’s, easyJet, Rightmove & Vodafone.
The winner will be announced during an in-person ceremony here in London on 6th July 2022.
