Old Street is an ancient (possibly Roman) street in North/East London, bridging the London boroughs of Hackney and Islington. The Old Street roundabout now serves as a commercial hub, and the area’s recent popularity with tech startups has seen it dubbed as London’s ‘Silicon Roundabout’.

As the street dissects the popular district of Shoreditch, it’s no surprise that there are plenty of options for entertainment in the area - nightclubs, restaurants and even a ping-pong bar are open late into the night. As well as a popular nightsport, the area is also of cultural significance, with Bunhill Fields - just off Old Street - the final resting place of literary greats William Blake and Daniel Defoe.

Old Street is well connected to the rest of London, receiving frequent service from National Rail trains as well as the bank branch of the Northern Line. The roundabout is also only a short walk from Liverpool Street or the overground at Shoreditch High Street.

The property landscape around Old Street is varied. On City Road, just off the roundabout, there are a large number of luxury new-build apartments opening. Towards the Hackney end of Old St. there are some older blocks of post-war flats, and converted period homes that contribute to the housing stock.
