You can book an energy assessor to survey your domestic or commercial property and issue an Energy Performance Certificate, which is also known as an EPC. This is a certificate that confirms the energy efficiency rating of a home.
For commercial properties, these are called Non-Domestic Energy Performance Certificate (NDEPC)
During the assessment, a qualified domestic energy assessor will look at your heating system, insulation, lights, wall thickness and other areas that can impact energy efficiency. Then they'll calculate an EPC rating based on their findings, and issue a certificate.
You must have an EPC before you can sell or rent out your property. An EPC is valid for 10 years.
