Frequently asked questions

If you're a landlord, you'll need to install a working carbon monoxide (CO) detector/alarm in any room with a fixed combustion appliance (e.g. a boiler, water heater or log burner) that is intended to be used as a living space. The only fixed combustion appliances that are excluded from these regulations are gas cookers. This came into effect in October 2022 as part of updated regulations.

You can read more about this here: New carbon monoxide (CO) detector regulations from October 2022

While this regulation doesn't apply to owner-occupiers, it's still good practice to ensure that a carbon monoxide (CO) detector/alarm is installed in any room with a combustion appliance.

You pay a minimum one hour callout charge for a CO detector installation or repair job.

If it's a repair job, the tradesperson will let you know whether your CO detector can be repaired once they've investigated the issue. If a repair isn't possible, you'll only pay the callout charge. The tradesperson will advise on the next steps, and may suggest a replacement instead of a repair.

If your repair or replacement job takes more than one hour, you’ll be charged for the additional time in 30 min increments (plus the cost of any materials).

If you need a new carbon monoxide detector, your tradesperson will source one locally and tell you the estimated cost. With your approval, they'll buy it and add the cost to your bill. Or you can supply your own replacement detector if you prefer.

There's no hassle with cash - we accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express payment cards.

Yes - all of our tradespeople are fully insured.

We've got great customer service, and our responsive support team are at hand to help if any issues come up during your booking.

We have tradespeople available at short notice or for advance booking. Just choose a date and time that works for you when you book in.

When you book your job, let us know your address. We'll make sure that you're matched with a trusted local professional who's based near you.

If there's anything wrong with the job, let us know within 72 hours and we'll come back. If the problem’s to do with our work, we'll fix it for free.

Very pleased with the electrician, he diagnosed the problem and disconnected the extractor fans in the bedrooms which was causing a lot of uncessary noise.
