Eltham, in the borough of Greenwich, is a South East London district. The area is commutable distance from the city, but maintains a breezy openness and is home to many green spaces.
The area is famous as the home of Oxleas Woods, a large woodland thought to be at least 8,000 years old. Severndroog Castle, built in 18th-century Gothic fashion and located within the forest, is now back open for public tours. The grade-II listed castle is well worth a visit - particularly due to the castle’s high positioning, which offers one of the best views across - and out of - London.
Houses throughout the Eltham area are predominantly Victorian, although there are also later, Edwardian semi-detached homes on the market as well. There are many more-recent estates too, with large and attractive detached and semi-detached properties, many of which have driveways and gardens too.
Eltham is not serviced by either the London underground or the London overground tube services. Nevertheless, access to Central London is easy, with frequent trains to Charing Cross and Victoria from Eltham railway station. These services run throughout the day, with particularly frequent departures during rush-hour.
Eltham, and the SE9 postcode, is frequently serviced by the Housekeep platform. All cleaners who use our platform deliver 5-star cleans and are background-checked and interviewed in person, prior to cleaning for you!
